A Broad Range of Experience

For the past 16 years I have been working in various capacities to support the emotional well being of individuals, families, relationships, and children and adolescents. My practice is a conglomeration of the many years of research, training, supervision, and clinical work I have conducted and continue to engage in.

As part of my clinical work, I spent several years developing and conducting trainings for child and family therapists throughout WA State at the University of Washington’s Evidence Based Practice Institute. In addition to being trained in evidence based treatment (EBT) models for youth and adults, I am also trained in EBT models for working with couples, such as the Gottman Method (Level 3) and Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy. I am also the co-developer of a research informed family therapy model for adolescents, which I continue to use in my clinical work as well as train and consult for.

I am currently a Teaching Faculty member and the Director of Clinical Training in the Couples and Family Therapy program at Antioch University Seattle, where I supervise graduate students in their internship work, teach adolescent and family clinical courses, and advance the field of marriage and family therapy through research and advocacy. My research explores the cultural responsiveness of EBT’s in both localized and globalized contexts. I spent a year living and working in Cambodia and am familiar with SE Asian culture and customs.

I am mid-western born and raised, but after nearly 17 years in Seattle I think I can say I am officially a Seattleite! In my free time, I enjoy exploring our mountains, trails, beaches, and towns with my family.
